Philip Varghese is a Texas-based financial consultant and accounting professional with more than 30 years of experience in local government finance, auditing, and compliance. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO), Philip has served in senior finance and audit roles across U.S. cities and county government, including Dallas County, where he developed hands-on expertise in procurement oversight, grant compliance, internal control design, and fraud risk management in complex, decentralized political environments.
Philip is the principal of his own financial consulting practice and recently completed his service on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Financial Audit Committee of USA Badminton, the national governing body for the sport in the United States. In that role, he navigated the governance and oversight challenges unique to lean nonprofits — including volunteer board dynamics, conflicts of interest, and financial reporting integrity. He is a long-standing member of the AICPA, the AICPA Not-For-Profit section, ACFE, GFOAT, and other professional associations, and draws on a deep library of CPE resources to deliver practical, field-tested insights to finance leaders and fraud prevention professionals worldwide.
